1. Start by printing page one separately. Make sure to set the print settings to single-sided printing for this page.
2. Once page one has been printed, proceed to print pages 2-11. Adjust the print settings to double-sided printing and ensure that the pages are flipped on the short edge. This setting allows the pages to be printed on both sides of the paper with the correct orientation.
3. Confirm that the pages have been printed in the correct order and that the content aligns correctly when flipping through the pages.

“A Guide to Preparing for Parole Hearings in Maryland” provides information and guidance to anyone in Maryland who is preparing for a parole hearing and to anyone who is assisting them in their preparation. It includes valuable information about: The History of Punishment, Prison and Parole; The Nuts & Bolts of Parole Hearings in Maryland; How to Put Together a Parole Packet; and How to Approach Parole Preparation. While it is written with a focus on the parole system in Maryland, it may well prove useful to people facing parole hearings elsewhere. All profits from this book go back to the nonprofit, Second Chance for Women, through which it was developed.
Who We Are ABOUT PREPARE
PREPARE: Prepare for Parole and Reentry is a Maryland-based not-for-profit with a mission of empowering people to make their best case for parole. Our program began in the Maryland Correctional Institution for Women (MCIW) in 2021. It grew out of the work of Maryjoel Davis, and her organization Second Chance for Women, as well as the work that was already being done by the women in the prison to help themselves and others.
