Brenda Shell-Eleazer is a retired Commissioner and Warden with 31 years of experience in correctional management and administration of juveniles, male and female offenders in city, state, and county correctional facilities. Having served over three decades in this profession, Brenda’s passion is committed to empowering staff and the incarcerated population, along with educating students pursuing employment in this field.
Brenda has been interviewed by Larry King in a documentary about the lives of female offenders at the Maryland Correctional Institution for Women that was aired on CNN, she also assisted with two documentaries about female offenders, one of which is used as a training tool for criminal justice professionals and hospital staff working with populations that have been impacted by trauma.
Brenda has served for several years as an adjunct instructor in Criminal Justice at Coppin State University and Stevenson University.
