Cynthia

Parole Advocate

Cynthia has worked as a parole advocate for PREPARE since 2026, and before that as a volunteer. She is committed to helping incarcerated people tell their story and present their best case for parole. She enjoys seeing the confidence of the women increase as they gather their materials and realize how far they have come in attaining their education, work, and rehabilitation goals. A graduate of Texas A&M University (B.S.) and The University of Chicago (Ph.D.), Cynthia previously worked in biological science research and public school education. In addition to continuing her role as a parole advocate, she supports PREPARE’s paths to determine data-based effectiveness outcomes of its work.
