Laura Collins is recently retired from the United States Coast Guard after 28 years
of service where she served at sea in command positions and served ashore as
strategic advisor to the Coast Guard’s most senior leaders.
Laura holds a bachelor of science in Electrical Engineering from the United States
Coast Guard Academy and a Masters of Science in Chemical Engineering from the
Johns Hopkins University. On active duty, Captain Collins spent a year as a military
fellow at the RAND Corporation. Most recently, she completed her 200-hour
“Road to Yoga’ teacher training with BambooMoves in Baltimore in the spring of
2023, where she now teaches.
Laura is an active volunteer with the Caroline Center, where she teaches math,
and the Catholic Community of South Baltimore, where she co-leads a group that
runs the spiritual retreat center called the South Baltimore Retreat House. She
now looks forward to working with PREPARE to further their incredible mission.
Laura is married to Captain Brian Glander, USCG Retired, and they have one son.
